Did you see Diane Wilson yell at BP Ceo Tony Hayward when he began his testimony today? It was amazing. I have a video if it on my page. She said he should have been charged with a crime and sent to jail. Do you agree?
I DID! It was fairly epic, but we were discussing at work how these hearings are much more punitive than investigatory, and that’s both ineffective and disheartening.
I don’t know that we want the legal precedent of sending Tony to jail over this. It wouldn’t stop the oil spill, the practices, or the profits. We have to run them out of business if we want to really punish them.
